Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are so happy that they have new baby that they decided to share their happiness with the others. The couple has donated $300,000 to local hospitals in Namibia and $15,000 for a school and community centre in the town.  “We want to contribute to Namibia and the people who have been so gracious to us at this time.” they said in the joint statement. Jolie gave birth to her daughter,  Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt at The Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund, Namibia, on Saturday, May 27. The couple has already two adopted children, Maddox and Zahara, and Shiloh Nouvel is their first biological child.

Sophia LorenSophia Loren and Jessica Lange want to help children with HIV in Russia. Stars decided to co-operate as they want to make their work more effective.  “Nationwide, tremendous work has to be done for children, specifically for HIV positive children. They are stigmatized. They have no possibility of being adopted, or to have equal education.” said Lange at the Heart of Gold ceremony in Moscow. Then Loren added that she’s always keen to help other people in need. Actresses have visited orphanages and children’s hospitals in Moscow. Loren and Lang admitted want to make those children’s lives more fulfilled and they want to stop stigmatization of them.

Naomi Watts keen to work with the United Nations

Naomi Watts Naomi Watts wants to work with the United Nations to fight the AIDS problem. Since Monday actress is an official special envoy on HIV/AIDS. “I only hope that, as a UNAIDS Special Representative, I can do my small part to raise AIDS awareness and to encourage greater international support for the vital work being done on the ground,” we can read in her statement. Naomi Watts confessed that her visit in Zambia really moved and inspired her. She visited clinics, hospitals, shelters and schools. UNAIDS believe that Watts will pay people’s attention to the problem. In Africa AIDS is still the leading cause of death, there are over 40 millions people infected with HIV.

 

Jane Fonda and Salma Hayek defend Juarez women

Salma HayekJane Fonda and Salma Hayek have decided to urge the Mexican government to draw more attention to the case of murders of women in the border town of Ciudad Juarez. According to official source since 1993, 350 women have been murdered, but un-officials statistics say about over 5000 killed. Stars appeared on a charity show before the Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues in Mexico City and all benefits from the performance went to charities supporting women in Ciudad Juarez. “If the Mexican government doesn’t put energy and resources into stopping these crimes and prosecuting the perpetrators, this is going to send a message to the rest of the world.” said Fonda at a news conference, Hayek added, “It’s really an embarrassment. In 10 years, it’s not possible to secure this area? We won’t let them (local authorities) rest.” Salma Hayek also admitted she is going to have a break of her movie career and she aim to focus on fighting for women’s rights and justice for the Juarez women.

Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner and Cicely Tyson have visited New Orleans, Louisiana. They wanted to draw attention to situation of the families in the city post-Hurricane Katrina. “I don’t think you get a real clear perspective unless you come down and see it. The children need attention right now.”, said Witherspoon. During their visit actresses worked with the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF). “I’ve been shocked and heartbroken.”, admitted Garner.

Rachel Weisz cares about Africa

Rachel Weisz is really keen to draw more attention to situation in Africa by her recent film “The Constant Gardener”. She got a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her in the adaptation of  John Le Carre’s novel. She promotes movie’s website ConstantGardenerTrust.com and she wants people donate money to change the plight of people in Africa, especially to improve situation in Kenya’s slums. “The message of the film is that if you can help one person, that’s better than not doing anything ” said actress.

Jessica Simpson ended up at the therapist because of her marrige problems. Recently it is reported on her marriage with Nick Lachey, that three year after their vow,their marriage is in the rock. But Jessica said that she and Nick will be together forever,as they vowed,through sickness and in health.
The pop beauty is probably not very compassionate. She has been criticized by humanitarian agencies, because of her behavior during her charity visit to Kenya. She
interrupted her 10-day visit with a $1500 safari and as an excuse she gave that she was to ill to visit children. She just spent two days with a charity which repairs children’s facial deformites. Then she went on a recreational trip. As attorney of charity  said Jessica was really sick and she couldn’t got out of bed, but on the other hand a hotel insider  claims she hasn’t been ill and the doctor hasn’t been called. The person from hotel also insists that all this situation has been scheduled. Probably this Simpson’s trip has cost about $12.500
